For over 70 years the Chronicle Garden Competition has been run alongside the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. This led to an identity crisis where the competition was so synonymous with the carnival that locals did not realise the competition was actually organised by their regional newspaper, the Toowoomba Chronical. The Chronicle wanted to carve out their position in the beloved community carnival with a strong, modern, colourful event rebrand.
